From the Rav’s Desk: Shaalos Veteshuvos on Mincha Erev Shabbos & More

Davening Mincha after accepting Tosefes Shabbos:[1]

One may Daven Mincha even after accepting Tosefes Shabbos, and so is the widespread custom.[2] However, once one has accepted Itzumo Shel Yom [such as Davening Maariv] he may no longer Daven Mincha.[3]

Other opinions: Some write one is to be particular to Daven Mincha before accepting Tosefes Shabbos. [SSH”K 46:5]

When on Erev Shabbos is one to tidy the home?

Some Poskim[1] mention that the tidying of the house should be done close to Plag Hamincha, as opposed to the morning or too close to Shabbos.
