During the nine days one is not allowed to plant gardens for pleasure purposes, such as the trees of kings which are planted for shade, or different species of myrtle.

May one plant a garden during the nine days?[2]

No. However, one may do so for purposes of livelihood/Parnasa.

 

May one tend his garden during the nine days?[3]

Yes. One may remove weeds and perform other garden work during these days.
